Aquia Harbour Rescue participates in SES Health Fair

Stafford Elementary School 2nd Annual Health Fair

Members from the Aquia Harbour Volunteer Rescue Squad participated in the 2nd annual Health Fair at Stafford Elementary School on Saturday, March 26th, 2011. Safety materials were given to the children and adults visiting the booth. Spike, the Poison Prevention Porcupine, starred in his own video. The Video taught the children to stay away from harmful substances. The children were also invited to play the "Is it candy or medicine?" game. The poster featured over a dozen medications that have candy look-a-likes. The Rescue Squad raffled off 2 coupons good for a free CPR, First aid or babysitting class. Many parents had questions on the use of safety and booster seats for the children. Squad members helping at the event were Patricia Byram, Chris Schoon, Janet Schroeder and Angela Wilhelm. The event ended with Zumba instruction. That had many people out dancing and enjoying the day.
