25 Years of Service

Congratulations to Patricia Copeland, who celebrated 25 years with the Aquia Harbour Volunteer Rescue Squad in June. Patricia is a Paramedic and has served in many offices for the Squad, including 3 years as Rescue Chief. You usually find Patricia running duty on Saturday or Sunday with her usual crew of Jayne and Katie Toellner and a precepting EMT. Patricia heads the Rappahannock Regional EMS Council’s Crisis Incident Stress Management Team. This team goes out to calls where there has been a stressful event to help the responders discuss the incident in a caring, non-judgmental environment. She may be called out at all hours of the day or night to help responders on those difficult calls. Thanks, Patricia for the many hours you have given to the community over the years.
Wasn’t it a GREAT 4th of July here is the Harbour! Hats off to the Community Event committee and our GM for a wonderful day of events. The festivities down at Lions Field just get better every year.
The morning parade is always my favorite. I get to see folks I have not seen in years, marching in the parade. I am referring to Phil Hornung this time. Phil was the Aquia Supervisor at that time and was instrumental in the formation of the squad and obtaining outside funds to establish the rescue squad building.
