AHVRS President Wilhelm named Stafford County Volunteer of the Year

Our Squad President, Angela Wilhelm, was named the Stafford County Volunteer Member of the Year at the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department’s annual awards ceremony on Saturday, March 25th at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie on Cool Spring Road. The award was presented by County Fire Chief Mark Lockhart. Angela joined our squad as a teenager earning her EMT and Firefighter certifications. She has served as our Membership Secretary, Admin LT. and Training LT. before being elected Squad President. Angela chairs the County Volunteer Administrative Committee, which handles the budgets for the volunteer fire and rescue organizations. She serves as a mentor and preceptor for our new members and EMTs. She is also an evaluator for the State EMT test sites. Angela believes in community education to promote safety and has helped at our bike helmet fittings, Save Your Heart for Love, National Night Out and teaches American Red Cross CPR and babysitting classes.
